Kapha: Molokai red sea salt from Hawaii
This sea salt underscores the importance of water source and the saltmaker’s craft. Seawater sourced from the ultra pure waters around Molokai are solar evaporated and combined with red Alaea volcanic clay to achieve an ultra mineral-rich sea salt with the clear, refreshing energy of deep Pacific waters. Hawaiians believe that the baked Alaea clay, which is composed of over 80 minerals, provides a variety of benefits, with detoxifying and healing powers. This salt has also been used historically for ceremonial purposes such as blessing and purifying sea-going canoes.
Pitta: Himalayan Pink Salt from the Himalayan Mountains
Himalayan Pink Salt is a pure, hand-mined salt found deep inside the pristine foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. Vata: Kilavea onyx sea salt from Hawaii
Kilauea Onyx sea salt has a deep obsidian black color and moist, silky texture. The salt is solar evaporated with purified black lava rock to add minerals, then combined with activated charcoal for color and to add detoxifying effects. Many salts are super-heated, processed and treated to remove impurities and pollution.
